In the midst of a large city in a foreign country surrounded by people who speak little English, it is easy to become overwhelmed. Trying to take everything in is no easy task; the language, the culture, the customs, the sights, the smells (not all good!) the food and mmmmm the café! (coffee) We went on a bus tour of the city today and Rosario is a city that could easily make anyone never wish to drive (or be in) a car again! The drivers in Rosario are completely crazy, there are no stop signs, no lines on the road and there would not appear to be any sort of order. The cars and the many motorcycles drive so fast it amazes me they don't crash into each other at every street corner. The biggest danger (and most constant) that I have faced is simply crossing the street. The Argentine people (when they are not behind the wheel of a car) are very welcoming and the customary greeting is a kiss on the cheek. The schedule/concept of time is going to take some getting used to; they don't eat dinner until around 10pm each night and the clubs don't even open til around 12am! That must be the reason for all of the delicious coffee that they are always drinking. speaking of.... off i go to a cafe!
