I am completely amazed that obesity is not a serious problem in this country.  The Argentines have a sweet tooth beyond anything I have ever seen!  There is a confetaría (bakery) on every street corner and the smells wafting out the doors are unbearably salivating.  Even just my walk to school everyday is going to be a serious test of will power. (Or I could just give it all up and come back to the US 20 lbs heavier and with a serious risk of diabetes... very tempting!)  There are donuts, pastries, churros, cakes, chocolates, croissants, fried goodness covered in sugar in every shape that you could possibly think of, cupcakes, mini tortas... the list is endless.  My new favorite sin is a caramel spread called dulce de leche that the Argentines put on everything from toast to fruit or simply eat with a spoon.  Between the sugar rushes and the caffeine I am starting to understand why these people never sleep!
